In Two Months I...

  • Found myself in New York twice in six months!
  • Saw New York blanketed in snow for the first time.
  • Lived in Harlem
  • Lived in the even more ghetto Bed-Stuy in Brooklyn (where a drive-by shooting happened just two blocks from where I lived!)
  • Lived in a house with eight other people
  • Rocked out at fashion week in the freezing cold
  • Partied at the awesome new Ace Hotel in midtown Manhattan
  • Went for an interview with an internationally-distributed magazine
  • Met Doe Deere for an interview over lunch in a Polish restaurant
  • Experienced the heaviest snow storm in my life - 10 inches of snow outside my house!
  • Decided that I'm not that fond of snow after all.
  • Lived on microwavable Mac & Cheese for two weeks
  • Watched Wicked on Broadway
  • Saw the Tim Burton exhibit in MoMA.
  • Went to the Met when it was almost empty - so breathtaking!
  • Went up the Empire State Building
  • Had a crush on someone I never thought I would go giggly over. Tsk.
  • Night after night of debauchery - it is after all, New York City

  • Experienced the best music festival I have ever been to - SXSW
  • Saw Estelle, Motorhead, Snoop Dogg, Courtney Love, Bahamadia, Invincible, amongst many others, live.
  • Saw wild deers!
  • Queued for 3 hours in the cold to get into a party.
  • Figured out downtown Austin in a mere couple of days.
  • Cracked enough Mexican jokes to last me another lifetime.
  • Ordered 50 McNuggets with three other girls at McDonald's and attempted to finish it all (We didn't.)
  • Cooked for people
  • Travelled over 34 hours to get home.

Yes, I'm home. I'm sicker than I've ever been in a long time, with cough that seems to make me throw my insides out, fever, blocked ears and nose, bad throat, and the works. I'm not particularly elated to be in Singapore, but I'm glad I'm this sick in a territory I'm familiar with. If you excuse me now, I need to hurl my guts out again...
