Walking on the Wild Side

Here's how my mother taught me how to tell my left hand from my right - she put my watch on on my left hand from the very first day I remember owning a watch, which was when I was quite young. It's probably the worst way you can teach a kid how to tell her left and right hands because till this day, I still have to look at my wrists to figure out if I need to tell the cabbie to turn left or right. I'm not sure if my brother has this figured out. I have to ask him.

And one of the first watches I remember owning, after a Tom & Jerry one I broke at swimming classes, was a Flik Flak that my dad got for my birthday. I loved that watch, and I've loved Swatch watches since. They're colourful, a little bit zany and very dependable.

Swatch released their latest range of fluoro zebra print watches with a flash mob of dancing zebras taking on the town over the weekend. I was at one of the flash mobs [not dressed as a zebra] and found it quite amusing. I think it'd be cool to be part of a flash mob - 'cept I can't dance to save my life.

Moving on, I love the fluoro-coloured faces of the watches because I'm all kinds of obsessed with bright pops of colour in my wardrobe, and the back & white stripes tones down the outrageousness of it all. I'm not exactly the queen of toning down colour of course - I topped off the Swatch with Lime Crime's Centrifuchsia hot pink lipstick, birdcage earrings from Diva, Tarina Tarantino Barbie ring and a Forever 21 floral printed dress that I got for a steal!

Swatch's latest zebra-print fluoro watches retail for SGD$82 at all Swatch stores and outlets around the island!
